As I come to the end of the fourth trimester, I can’t help but marvel at how much has happened in 3 months since the birth of my littlest monkey. I can’t believe how much she’s grown, how I’ve survived on so little sleep and I can hardly remember what life was like before her.
It’s so easy to exist just for her. Between nursing, cuddles and kisses, and spending days alone with her how can I not lose myself in her sparkly eyes? I think I’ve been hibernating a bit more this winter than I thought I would have. I was all over Manhattan before her birth, exploring museums, parks and different neighborhoods, with monkey #1 as my traveling wingman. But I suppose with a new baby, a new apartment, lack of sleep, an energetic toddler to contend with and winter, I’m losing steam.
So, this is why I came up with the 12 days of Valentine’s – Love Yourself list. I’m working through how to get my mojo back. How to get out and about more and how to be ready for my half marathon in April. This weather we’ve been having in NY is brilliant, totally aligned to my plan to shine more in February.
So go ahead and print out the list above. I will be exploring each of these themes for 12 days starting Friday and ending on Valentine’s Day. I hope you’ll follow along, comment, tell me how your doing and get your mojo back with me!
I’m writing this from the perspective of a new mother, but just about anyone suffering the January dulldrums could begin to shine through the 12 Days of Valentine’s.
