New Orleans food is as delicious as the less criminal forms of sin.
– Mark Twain
Ok, so I am just loving New Orleans. What a crazy , friendly and vibrant place! Though I have only been able to go into the French Quarter and will be venturing out to get a view of the Mississippi so that I can cross another thing off my list, I still wish I could see soooo much more. There are not enough hours in the day and the primary reason I am here (to attend the conference) is great and taking up most of my time, so I am grateful what I am getting to experience.
Though I’ve ventured down Bourbon Street both for an early morning walk to breath in the beer stained sidewalks as well as at night, the kind of fleshly sins going on on Bourbon Street are not up my cup of tea. BUT, the food, the glorious food! I’ve had everything from fried green tomatoes, gumbo and ‘dirty’ rice at The Roosevelt Hotel, crawfish bisque at Bon Ton Cafe, sweet doughy beignets both at the hotel and the ever popular and iconic Cafe du Monde and so many more delicacies.
So if food is your sinful pleasure, especially of the seafood variety, you will L-O-V-E New Orleans.
What’s your guilty pleasure when you travel?
