Weight Loss with Shaklee 180 More than Just Numbers

A month has passed since I first told you that I was starting on my 6 month journey with the Shaklee 180 weight management program. I Started March 1 with the program, replacing 2 meals per day with smoothies or bars and eating one healthy meal usually at dinner. My snacking has returned to more healthful eating of fruits and vegetables instead of hectic snacking on junk food, calorie rich foods with really no nutritional benefit do not even enter into this house anymore.

Cutting out the sugary daily treats means that I dropped 6 pounds quickly in the first 2 weeks. The weight continued to drop over the last 2 weeks of the month as I upped my running and strength training for next week’s More FITNESS Half Marathon. I’m thrilled with the results in terms of the numbers, but I’ve also learnt that weight loss is definitely about more than just numbers and I talk about this in the video below.

Look Ma! No (or at least very little) back fat!

I am a Shaklee 180 Blogger

I am super excited to announce that I have been accepted into the Shaklee 180 Blogger Program! What is it you ask? Well, I’d really like for you to watch the video below to find out more about Shaklee 180 and what it means for me and Mama Goes BAM. If you don’t have time for the 3 minute video, skip below for a rundown of what I babble about in the video :)

My journey has yet to start, so I’m really hoping you’ll come along with me and learn with me. This program will be the jumpstart I need to help balance my exercise regimen, my sweet tooth and energy level. In a nutshell, this is what I covered in the video:

  • I am excited to be part of the Shaklee 180 program!
  • Shaklee 180 is a weight loss program
  • I am taking part in the Shaklee 180 blogger program for 6 months starting March 1
  • I am taking part in the program while continuing to train for my next half marathon mid-April
  • I think I mention again that I am excited to be part of the Shaklee 180 program!
  • I will be sharing regular photo updates of my hopefully shrinking belly
  • It is going to be hard to share these photos, so I will need your support!
  • My updates will have both the highs and lows, but hopefully their will be more highs than lows
  • And lastly…I’m excited to start this journey :)
I’m looking forward to catching up with you all in the next couple of weeks once I’ve gotten started and when I’m sure I will have much much more to say!
All of our journeys and goals will be different – some of us want to lose more weight than others. So even if you don’t relate to my story over the next 6 months, you might find one you relate to here, from the list of 90 bloggers.

Can I Make You Laugh for a Moment?

☆☆ Thanks to everyone who voted! We won! ☆☆

A couple of weeks ago I had this grand idea of creating a video entry for a Contest to win 7 nights accommodation in Orlando, Florida. Well, the grand idea didn’t really go off as planned thanks to the 2 mini-me’s :) But in the end I think the result was still quite funny and it is has made us a finalist in the contest!

I wasn’t going to post this here, but we are now neck in neck with one other entrant and actually have a chance of winning. If you have a couple of minutes to spare, I’d love it if you could do a one-time vote for our family. I could tell you that we “really deserve” a break, but hey don’t all families! All I can hope is that as you wander over to Facebook you’ll take the time to vote for us :)

I’d really appreciate it and can’t thank you enough in advance. Voting closes Friday, September 21 at noon EST (super soon!).

Here is a sneak at the video, when your done laughing (I hope!) Head over to Global Resort Homes on Facebook, “like” the page and then click “vote” next to the “Ghada V” video.

Thanks again and enjoy!

A New York Mom Blogger : Who’s Your Mama?

Me and the offending baby who did not want to behave on camera

People stumble onto this blog from different places, through different links and promos. I hope that eventually you all get around to reading my about me page for a bit more of an insight into me. But, I know that some of you won’t, and I sometimes think that I actually need to update it.

A little while ago, Nicole at Mama NYC shared the story of how she started her blog and then called out 5 other bloggers to do the same. I was then ping’ed in 2 different posts from bloggers asking me to do the same. I really enjoyed hearing the story behind how Dawn at Cheap is the New Classy started out as well as Maggie at Literary Winner got her beginning. Needless to say we are all ladies who don’t like being bored and that is one commonality to our “how we got started” story.
