I have been lactose intolerant since I can remember. I’ve also loved cheese for as long as I can remember. I used to get horrible stomach pains and other “too much information” symptoms that my parents could not understand. When the doctors identified that I was lactose intolerant, it was a relief. We could not limit my dairy intake, thus relieving me of much pain and discomfort. But then, I was also miserable because I wasn’t eating as much cheese as I would’ve liked to or other foods rich in dairy
I never really loved drinking glasses of milk, but that all changed when I discovered organic milk. Now that I am a mother, I am always on the lookout for the best food to feed my family. By “best” I mean not only with the best nutritional value, but with a great taste as well – that is where Horizon Organic comes in. I first discovered them a few months back on way too frequent trips to caffeinate at a certain coffee shop rhyming with ‘Farlucks’. My son took a liking to the chocolate milk which in turn made me look for their products at the grocery store. They have an impressive selection of dairy products, from cheese, to milk, cottage cheese and sour cream – all perfect for making healthy snacks.
I’ve now taken a liking to drinking milk. I believe it definitely has something to do with the pure, fluid taste. Where as ‘normal’ milk is thicker and not as fresh tasting, Horizon Organic milk just tastes right – because there is nothing added. Also the added hormones and antibiotics found in ‘normal’ milk obviously did not agree with me. My intolerance is basically non-existent when I drink organic milk and use other organic products in my cooking.

I’ve been lactose intolerant for years, it is SO painful! I did notice drinking raw milk helped, it didn’t cause me any bloating or pain. Organic is so expeneive, but I’m going to try out Horizon, would be worth it if I can drink milk again! Thanks for sharing your experience.

I suppose its different for everyone, but I definitely notice a change. i couldn’t really digest a glass of milk of have too much cheese without becoming physically ill. Now, I can go a little over board on cheese without those symptoms…So for me, that balances out the cost.
