The kids and I visited our local Chuck E Cheese’s with Mr BAM a few weekends ago. It was the perfect place to be on a day where the weather wasn’t cooperating. I figure, their will be lots more days like this as the days get shorter and the weather cools.
It was our first time there. Ok, I get it now. We’d only ever seen commercials for Chuck E Cheese’s on TV and heard others talk of this family-friendly place. But seeing as I’d never been there, I was skeptical. From 10 months old to thirty-something, all the members of our family of four had a good time.
The atmosphere is buzzy – blinking lights and bells and whistles are chirping from every corner. Surprisingly it wasn’t at all irritating. Something about seeing so many kids and their parents smiling and having a good time together makes for a pleasant afternoon. My own Mr BAM and little P bonded over racing games and Mr P even ventured off to play in the winding tunnels and slides all by himself. This gave us the opportunity to have a bit of a breather while feeling pretty secure in his safety. The infrared activated stamps we’d all had put on our arms on entry means that no kid ever leaves Chuck E Cheese’s with the wrong parent.
We had a gift certificate that gave us 30 free tokens, a pizza and free drinks. The pizza was good, it didn’t arrive super fast, but that makes me believe that they do actually make it fresh. The selection of drinks included more than just your average fizzy pop and their was even an all you can eat salad bar, something I was not expecting. I thought we would’ve burnt through the tokens in no time, but we managed to stay for about 2 hours and did not even need to purchase additional tokens. Its great that you can play any game with just one token.
I can see us adding this to our options of fun rainy day activities to do near home. I even signed up to the club to receive promotional offers. I have to agree that Chuck E Cheese’s is definitely a place where a kid (and even an adult!) can be a kid.
The pictures are too cute!!! We went to CEC for the first time a few months ago and it was crazy! The 3 year old loved it, of course, but I hated hauling around the 1 year old who couldn’t really do anything yet. But it was fun for them, so I guess that’s all that matters, right??

I love taking the kids to Chuck E Cheese!! Lots of free stuff, and really little out of my pocket with the extra token certificates.

Mr BAM agrees 🙂
We dont usually hit chuckie cheese that much but the kids just went to a party there last week and love it. Small doses are the best. The pizza was not that bad either!
We LOVE Chuck E Cheese! It’s honestly such a great value and my daughter loves all the games. I feel like the kids are safe because of the stamps and the whole family has a good time when we go!
