Is It really Mid January?

No socks and iced coffee in mid-january

Hello lovely readers! It has been awhile since I have written and I miss you all! With the holidays things got super busy and add to that a dreaded tummy bug that did the rounds in our house. We then had the pleasure of bringing this superbug up North to my parents in Canada and spreading it to them as an extra Christmas present.Β

My little family is all on the mend, and I am so looking forward to a fantastic year ahead! So much has happened and so much is going to happen here in 2013 so thanks for sticking around as I work to resume regular programming. I have so much to share with you all.

So today and for the last few days, the weather has been incredibly warm for this time of year. I’m hoping I don’t jinx it by talking about it! I had my longest run since the birth of Isla nearly 15 months ago, I ran a glorious 7 miles – this week’s long run. My body really opened up at mile 5 and I remembered why I so love the half marathon distance.

I have been pounding out 3-4 runs per week in preparation for the More Fitness Half here in NYC on April 14. Registration opened today and I am so stoked to have registered! Woohoo! I had lots of dreams of running races and getting back up to top shape in 2012, and truthfully it was just not to be. But now I feel mentally and physically ready to get back to that distance as well as supported by my family.

Look forward to connecting again and in the meantime, tell me how your January is going? Has the new year brought about any great changes for you? Tell me all about it in the comments.

    1. “Freezing” is so relative. I bet we’d find it positively balmy in NYC πŸ™‚ You’ll get your groove, it’s taken me over a year to get back to 7 miles that I use to bang out like nobody’s business

    1. Blah! Doctors and their orders lol The shoes are a payless special πŸ™‚ I like to surround myself in purple.

  1. I’m glad you guys are all on the mend! I had missed seeing your posts in my email lately.

My January is going slow. I got behind on everything and I didn’t even have the excuse of being sick. I do have the excuse of a husband being in the way…

    1. Aaaw, thanks Elle. My husband is off in a couple of weeks as well πŸ™ So I am determined to get back on track before that happens.
