I’ve mentioned before that I would like to get back to half marathon shape this year. I have to admit, I’m a little scared. I’m at 7 weeks post baby and am feeling overall pretty good, though I have a slight pelvic pain that comes and goes. It comes mostly after a sleep, but most worryingly after I go for a long walk or attempt a jog This is totally new to me as I never had this feeling with Monkey #1. It is getting increasingly better, so I hope that with a little more stretching and by taking it slow I will be 100% better.
I signed our family up for a family membership with the New York Road Runners that will help us get discounts on races. Big Monkey would like to get automatic entry to New York Marathon 2013 which means he has to do 9 + 1 (run 9 qualifying races and volunteer at 1) during 2012. I life the half marathon distance and have no intentions at the moment to run a full.

At the moment, most of the races I have chosen are close to home and should be doable if I start the Couch to 5K at the beginning of January and then work my way up to a Hal Higdon half marathon training plan. I don’t want to make it to hard to get the family to these races, but I will be keeping my eyes out for other interesting races. Anyone else have running races on the cards for 2012? Would love to hear where you are running and maybe even see if we can meetup.
