Shopping for Clear Scalp & Hair Beauty Therapy

I mentioned last week that the new Clear Scalp & Hair Beauty Therapy has arrived at Duane Reade. If like me, you are on the lookout for this great new product, make sure to call your local Duane Reade first to make sure that they are stocking it. With this revolutionary concept of feeding your hair at the scalp, these new Clear products are in demand.

The new Clear Scalp & Hair Beauty Therapy has different shampoos and conditioners for men, women, and women of color for everything from dry/damaged hair to color treated hair. It will be hitting more Duane Reade stores in July.

I called my two local (and 2 favorite) Brooklyn Duane Reade’s and neither of them were stocking it just yet. But, the friendly cosmetician on the line at the Williamsburg Duane Reade was also on the hunt as she really wanted to try this new shampoo and conditioner combo that is meant to work on hair from the root, not the ends. She made a suggestion of where I could find it, so I called that store up and guess what? They were carrying an extensive line of the products.

Free Glasses from Bubba Gump Shrimp Co, Times Square, NYC #TTPT

So excited by my FREE glasses. One even lights up!

As I mentioned last week, we headed into Times Square for my husband’s birthday. Their are many many options of family friendly places to have a meal, but not all have the combination of good food and an incredible view overlooking Times Square. Bubba Gump Shrimp Co is affordable and does have that ‘only in New York’ top down view of Times Square (don’t believe me, check out the photo I took from our table!).

BUT, the one thing that is even cooler is that when you order cocktails and children’s drinks, you get to keep the glass! This is very cool, seeing as the cocktail glasses say ‘Times Square, New York’ and could easily double as a beer glass later on. The kiddie drink that my son ordered lights up from the bottom with the push of a button. He absolutely loved it, and couldn’t believe he got to keep it.

Word of advice: We were a bit surprised when the waiter cleared my glass away before dinner was over – the menu clearly said I got to keep it. But when our final cheque came, the other waitress pointed out that we got to go claim new, clean and free glasses in the gift shop.

The drinks were fairly priced as were the meals, so free glasses were definitely a bonus!

I can’t be entirely sure if all cocktails get you a free glass, but from our order I know their are definitely at least 2 adult and 1 kids drinks that do! So make sure to ask your waiter to help you find the drinks that are part of this deal. Glasses like this would easily go for anywhere between $5-10 in souvenir shops.

Living Like a Tourist in NYC

It’s been a little under a week that my inlaws have been here and it has been fun enjoying the city with them. They are both very well traveled – from New Zealand, to the UK, Vietnam, Korea, Europe, and so many other places but never before have they been here! So though I have not been here forever, I used to visit often and now call New York home. So I have a few suggestions, and they have a few places that they want to see. Having them here is jazzing me up even more about this city.

How do you fall in love with your city all over again?

Yesterday was my husband’s birthday so we wanted to go somewhere very New York City that was also family friendly. We settled on Bubba Gump Shrimp Co in Times Square – with views to die for overlooking all the action and lights it doesn’t get anymore New York. Check out the photo I took from our table. Stunning, eh? I go to Times Square just enough that it hasn’t yet got boring or over the top for me. It’s amazing every time!

New Clear Scalp & Hair Therapy Lands at Duane Reade

As you know my inlaws are here from New Zealand so I have the opportunity to share some of my favorite New York spots with them. My mother-in-law has a bodycare line based in New Zealand, so I have raved to her about Duane Reade’s LOOK Boutique in the past and knew that it was on the list of places I had to show her.

This past week on a glorious day (one of the few without rain!), we made our way to 40 Wall Street for a demo of the new Clear Scalp & Hair Beauty Therapy.

I’d seen the advert with Heidi Klum and her glorious hair as well as an ad in this month’s Essence magazine for the line specific to women of color, so I was looking forward to finding out more about this product. The concept is is a “breakthrough experience”. These products promise to nourish our hair from the scalp.
